Unitymedia CEO appointed COO of Virgin Media

International consumer groups say new GDPR consent forms obscure extent of data sharing

(Telecompaper) The Norwegian Consumer Council, alongside other international consumer and privacy groups, has issued a report called ‘Deceived by Design’, and asked for their concerns to be discussed by the European Data Protection Board. Elisa claims world's first commercial 5G network launch

(Telecompaper) Finnish operator Elisa claims to have become the first operator in the world to begin commercial use of a 5G network, and has begun selling 5G subscriptions. The 5G network was launched in Tampere and Tallinn. The first person to use the network was Anne Berner, Minister of Transport and Communications, who made a video call to Kadri Simson, Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure in Estonia, using a 5G terminal from Huawei.
